About Us

MISSION AND CORE VALUES

The mission of Holy Light Church (English) is to develop people to become fully devoted Spirit-filled followers of Jesus Christ

1. A commitment to Bible exposition (Acts 2:42)
We believe that the Bible is the authoritative and inspired word of God (2 Timothy 3:16) that is useful and relevant at all times. Therefore, we are committed to the preaching and teaching of God's word for the equipping of Christians to follow Jesus Christ's example to live in every sphere of life.

2. A commitment to prayer (Matthew 7:7-11; Philippians 4:6; Isaiah 56:7)
We believe that God desires his people to pray and that he answers prayer (Matthew 7:7-11). Therefore, we are committed to come to him in prayer individually and corporately in everything, making prayer as living in his presence for all areas of life (Philippians 4:6).

3. A commitment to awe-inspiring worship (Acts 2:42-43)
We believe our God is an awesome God who reigns from heaven above with wisdom, honour, power and love (Revelation 7:12; Psalm 47:2). Therefore, we are committed to gather together to celebrate his abundant goodness and joyfully sing of his righteousness and holiness.

4. A commitment to seeking and saving the lost (Mark 10:45)
We believe that lost people matter to God and to us (1 Timothy 2:3-6). Therefore, we are committed to reach the lost through life-style and friendship evangelism. We will seek the lost in the community by serving them.

5. A commitment to caring and authentic relationship (Acts 2:42,45-47)
We believe that caring and authentic relationship among God's people is a prerequisite for the growth of the church. Therefore, we are committed to building this relationship, seeing small-group ministry as one of the most effective means of nurturing relationship, stimulating spiritual growth and developing leaders.

6. A commitment to a well-mobilised laity (Ephesians 4:11-12)
We believe that the primary responsibility of the pastors and leaders of the church is to God'a people for the work of service so that the body of Christ may be built up. (Ephesians 4:12). Therefore, we are committed to encourage, equip and empower God's people for ministry.

7. A commitment to unity of body and team work (Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 12:27)
W
e believe that every member is valuable to God and is given gifts for work in the kingdom of God.(1 Peter 4:10) Therefore, we are committed to value each other and seek to use our gifts to work together to build up the body of Christ.

8. A commitment to building strong Christian families (Joshua 24:15; Psalm 128)
We believe that a strong Christian family is the foundation of a healthy church. Therefore, we are committed to provide an atmosphere and seek ways to strengthen and nurture strong Christian families.

9. A commitment to excellence (Philippians 4:4, 8-9)
We believe that excellence honours God and inspires people. Our God who is a God of excellence gave his best, his one and only Son for us (Romans 8:32). Therefore, we are committed to pursue excellence in all that we do to glorify him.

10. A commitment to a Spirit-filled and Spirit-led life (Gal 5:16, 22-23)
We believe that we are to be continually filled with the Sprit in order to live the Kingdom life as new creation in Christ (Ephesians 5:18b-19). Therefore, we are committed to live a surrendered life of holiness, fruitfulness, and power being led by the Spirit through His Word to walk and minister in the Spirit's power, wisdom, and anointing.
